Winter Bible Workshop- Jesus's Resurrection: The World Upside Down
Jan

Winter Bible Workshop- Jesus's Resurrection: The World Upside Down

Start the new year by diving deeply into Scripture with Candler instructor Dr. Ebby Arnold. Come enjoy rich learning, lively discussion, and warm fellowship—with refreshments provided!

Course Description: This class will look at the topic of resurrection and how it was understood in the ancient world, both in the Greco-Roman and Jewish view. By examining Paul's first letter to the Corinthians and Mark's resurrection narrative, we will explore how the resurrection of Jesus changed the paradigm of new life after death. Finally, we will consider how these ideas might shape our
corporate and individual lives as witness to both the resurrection of Jesus and the final resurrection to come.

Instructor: Elizabeth Arnold, PhD
Dr. Elizabeth “Ebby” (EE-BEE) Arnold serves as Scholar-in-Residence for The Candler Foundry, where she is the creator of the Foundations in Faith and Leadership online certificate program for community and church-based theological education. Arnold also teaches courses at Candler and in the Foundry’s Courses in the Community program.
Arnold’s current research projects include investigating the nature and function of church conflict in Paul’s letters to the Corinthians and exploring how the narrative of Luke-Acts functions as a model for interpreting scripture.

Trunk or Treat

Each year, our Community Outreach Trunk or Treat has grown bigger and better – with more families, more fun, and more smiles!

 But here's the challenge:

While attendance has increased, the number of trunks has decreased.

Last year, we had just 12 trunks – and we need at least 30 this year to make it a true success for the community.

 You can help!

No elaborate decorations required. Just bring:

✅ Yourself

✅ Your vehicle

✅ A generous spirit (and some candy to share!)

Whether you're a parent, volunteer, youth group, local business, or church member – your presence matters. Sign up here.

Let’s come together and make this year’s Trunk or Treat the best one yet!
